another idea i’ve had….

one thing i’ve always been fairly good at is decoding academic speak

It has struck me as kinda sad that the older practice of commenting on a text has disappeared as a valid means of scholarship

but like, it’d also be great for some of those hugely inaccessible academic texts were, idk, interpreted and tried to be made more accessible to peopel without a degree of some kind?

and, yeah, obviously it would be rife with bias and perhaps contain misunderstandings but

uh…

that is what commentaries are

and if we can’t study some classical texts without paying attention to commentary….

idk. i kinda wish that this hadn’t disappeared as a valid form of scholarship.
