sometimes…

i truly despair on whether or not we’ll get to freedom

and i just had a sudden thought.

i think i’m just about ready to abandon the notion of decolonization.

(i don’t mean in the very immediate/practical sense of Indigenous peoples recovering all the land that was once there and all settlers becoming unsettled)

but i think i’m just now, suddenly, realizing that ‘decolonization’ as ideology, theory, thing that people talk about is likely too problematic to be much use in actually getting us to a moment of decolonization.¹
