I made a comment about a supplementary thing not up for debate is lived experience

I do apply this to myself

if I’m engaged with a someone and it becomes clear that they want to talk about their experience, I generally walk away

because, especially if the experience is painful in any way, that is not the time to have a discussion

maybe I still think they are wrong in a general sense

but

lived experience isn’t up for debate

ever

(yes, I can think of several cases where I just walked away without saying anything else. at least one where people thought I was shitty for not saying anything else. but, 

lived experience is *not* up for debate)
