one of the principle tenents of science is defeasbility

as in…

all science facts can be challenged and potentially proved false.

all of them.

even the ones that we really really think cannot be broken

(like laws of physics)

even, gasp the scientific method itself (or other forms of inductive

reasoning)

this principle is one of science’s greatest strengths

because it is intended to avoid and discourage dogma and faith-based

adherence to principles

the status of scientific truths are of the nature

“has yet to be proven false”

rather than eternal and immutable truth

but ppl still want to clutch their pearls the moment someone levels any

criticism…..
