the discussion about ‘copyright’ and intellectual ‘property’

is usually conflated with a related, but distinct

conversation about research ethics and the ethics of a privileged person

engaging with ppl they oppress

because, it is often, at the end, about exploitation, unethical research

practices, and property in that really settler colonial sense that only

white ppl are allowed to own it… everything else is ‘public’ domain.
