I still don’t know why people bring up their credentials when we are just having a discussion

especially here on the internet where assuming shit generally gets you into shit

But. 

Like most of the people I see/interact with on tumblr are in school. now being in school or having gone to school is *not* what made them what they are today. Yes, it influences you. 

But a bright, curious, critical person is a bright, curious, critical person. With or without school.

And not even to get into the obvious classism, racism, and ableism involved with invoking your ‘credentials’ in a debate. 

Why are you trying to position yourself as ‘authoritative’?
