Are there any australians who can explain what is happening there? Because this headline says ‘trans and intersex’ but the article (and especially in reference to the passport rules) kinda makes it look like these rules apply to Intersex people only.

Because… for passports, from what I’ve read, only Intersex people can get an X. And the quoted language in this article only mentions Intersex people.

I say this because all the stuff I’ve read about this, especially by australian Intersex people, just looks like they are tossing trans people under the bus, but using trans people as a foil

“we are not like them we have an actual medical/physical condition, you can’t discriminate”

I’d like to believe that this isn’t true… but even in north america, this sort of rhetoric creeps fairly regularly into Intersex politics….
