thinking about language

and how, when we come to ID different words as being oppressive and how some people take this as an (erroneous) restriction on their free expression.

(never realizing of course that freeing themselves from being oppressive is so much more meaningful)

anyway

you know one of the things i love best about learning about all of this? about learning how some words have histories of oppression and that using them hurts?

how it forces me to grow as a writer (and person) how it forces me to be so much more…

creative

exact

thoughtful

in how i use language

instead of being oppressive

i get to show everyone how much i care. how much love i have for everyone.

because i’m willing to spend that extra second to make sure that my words don’t oppress
