Is having an umbrella term even desirable?

When I think about how it has been used in white activist communities to organize around their elevation while excluding poc, it really makes me wonder.

I suppose it is worthwhile to ask what I would hope to accomplish?

I mean, I do still see the purpose and utility of an umbrella term like ‘poc’. It serves a purpose.

But… as we also must note: it occasionally works to justify calls of unity that end up erasing and downplaying the very real differences in our experiences of racism.

I don’t know…
