It is about the suspect nature of white passing or light skinned PoC seeking to have our identities validated by darker, non-passing PoC.

Because this suddenly strikes me as being shady as fuck.

It isn’t the responsibility of dark skinned PoC to ease our insecurities.

Our roots are our roots.

I’ve really only had white people try to erase this (by discounting my experiences as a PoC, it has never been non-passing people. All they’ve ever asked is that I recognize and check my privilege).

I really think that people should stop seeking comfort and validation from darker skinned people about this.
