I just don’t understand why white people can’t make a point about unsustainable farming and consumerism without devolving into bullshit classism (and a hint of white saviourism in that article). 

Because if your solution is to buy a $200 wool sweater or some shit, you’ve failed to understand *any* of the important factors and conditions that have lead to living in a world were *some* (probably white, cis, middle-or-higher class) people are treating clothing like a disposable commodity, fueling an industry built on the backs and sweat of exploited PoC labour.
