I just realized that one of my insta-rage buttons is whenever people swoop into a post or whatever written by someone who is not from white anglo-american culture and start policing the language.

I’m sure this is a much familiar rage to many a Black american.

Fuck does it make me mad.

White people before you call out a poc’s use of language you better be damn fucking sure that what you are doing isn’t actually just re-enforcing your colonial anglo language norms. Because, yeah, oppressive shit needs to be called out. But some day you’ll have to fucking deal with the fact that after forcing a bunch of people to speak english, we’ve made it into something that can liberate instead of silence us.

And that you may not understand what we are saying or why, but you can still fuck off with your ‘definitions.’
